5 Rounds Swiss System Chess Tournament (no elimination.)

Open to any college student or team.

Only Texas College players can be Texas Collegiate Champs

FIDE rated but uses USCF rules. USCF rated. USCF membership is required. TCA membership is also required (Tournament Membership embedded in entry fee).

Prizes:

 1st Place-$400, 2nd-$200, 3rd-$100

1st '1600-1800'-$100 1st '1200-1599'-$100 1st 'U1200(includes unrated)'-$100

Plaques to top 10 individuals, Plaques to top 5 teams

Top 3 players in the section is added for team scores. No more than two teams per school

Entry Fee is $49 if postmark by 10/29 else $69 afterward.

Entries must include Name, USCF ID (or new/pending), grade and school. Incomplete entries will be charged at site entry fee of $69.

Registration/Check in for Friday, November 9 from 7 pm - 9 pm.

Registration/Check in for Saturday, November 10 from  7:30 am -  8:30 am.

Saturday registration may require a 1/2 point first round bye.

One ½ pt bye available, any round, if requested before rd. 2 and before any full point bye is awarded.

Round Times:

Blitz Open tourney Fri. 7:30 pm.  EF: $15, Trophy prizes. 

Bughouse tourney Sat. 8:35 pm. EF: $20/team. Trophy prizes. Onsite registration only

Parent/Child team tourney Sat. 6:35 pm. EF: $10/team. Trophy prizes

The tournament will be run under the USCF Rules of Chess, 5^th E.

NS, NC, W, rule variation 11H1. Because of the 30 second increment, notation is required for the whole game. A player may not stop when player's time is under 5 minutes. More rules here.

Individual Tiebreaks:  Modified Median, Median, Solkoff, Sonneborn-Berger, Cumulative.

Team Tiebreaks (note new USCF Team Tiebreaks: Total individual medium, Total Solkoff, Total Sonnenborn-Berger, Total Cumulative.

Latest version of Swiss Sys will be used. Pairings created by this program are considered legal and may stand even if a pairing is not ideal. This is especially true if pairings have been posted. Current version is at 8.882
