Premier Section: Open to players rated 1800 or above. The highest finishing player who is otherwise non-qualified by rating from the Dallas Premier 1 Reserve section may also play in this section. $$G 500-260-120. EF: $90 if received by 3/21, else $109. EF for Senior/Handicap/Additional family participant/birthday during tournament: $60 by 3/21 else $79

Reserve Section:  Open to U2000. $$ at least 25% of Reserve entry fees. Arbiter will post prize list before the fourth round. EF: $70 if received by 3/21, else $89. EF for Senior/Handicap/Additional family participant/birthday during tournament: $40 by 3/21 else $59

 Both sections are FIDE rated and use FIDE playing rules.  USCF rules/ratings used for awarding prizes. USCF ratings used for pairing purposes. May use US Chess pairing rules. Players not at the board within 60 minutes of the scheduled start of the round will forfeit game unless arbiter decides to grant more time. Except for approved Electronic score keeping devices, no electronics are allowed in the playing area during the round. This includes rest rooms in the playing area. This rule applies to players, parents, coaches. Note that the Playing area will be closed to non-players during the round. Every player must turn in a copy of their games. Other Covid -19 rules will be in effect. Byes. One 1/2 point bye allowed if requested before the end of round 2 and before any full point bye is awarded.

Covid-19 Precautions will be observed

Some of the steps we are taking:
  • One game per table.
  • Sanitization equipment for boards and pieces will be available.
  • All participants and staff will wear masks.
  • Governor Abbott announced masks are no longer required starting next Wednesday, March 10. Masks are still required for this tournament.
  • One-way aisles will be designated where appropriate.
  • Limits on Spectators.
  • We are exploring no-touch methods for customer service, distributing pairings, collecting results, and posting results.
  • Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be plentiful.

Tournament has two Sections. Foreign players must disclose their FIDE ID number before 1st round in order to play. USA players without FIDE ids must represent USA in international competition in order to play.
