Players not at board within 60 minutes of the start of the round will forfeit game unless arbiter decides to grant more time. There will be special college prize(s) depending on entries.

Right now the plan is to not mandate masks. Note that if state or local governments or the hotel require masks then the tournament will comply. Right now none of these entities are requiring masks.

When players are finished with their rounds, parents must be responsible for them. The tournament is at a public hotel. Parents, please provide appropriate activities during the time between rounds. Do not allow children to run freely through the hotel. You are responsible for your players between games. It is not appropriate to interfere with other guests and other events happening at the hotel.

Tournament has 3 Sections.

Open Section: This section is FIDE rated and uses FIDE rules.  USCF rules/ratings used for awarding prizes. USCF ratings used for pairing purposes.  Please check tournament website for rules about FIDE registration. $$ 1,000-500-250, 2200-2399 $750, 2000-2199 $750. There will be special college prize(s) depending on entries.

Reserve Section: Open to U2000. $ This section is FIDE rated and uses FIDE rules. Please check tournament website for rules about FIDE registration. $ 800-400-200. Class/section Prizes will be determined at tournament based on entries. Unrateds may play in this section but only win top prizes.

Novice Section: Opened to U1400 and Unrated. This section is USChess rated only. $$ $500. Class/section Prizes (if any) will be determined at tournament based on entries. Note that TD may start White’s clock at the start of each round.

All 3 (Open, Reserve and Novice): Except for approved Electronic scorekeeping devices, no electronics are allowed in the playing area during the round. This includes rest rooms by the playing area. This rule applies to players, parents, coaches. Players not at the board within 60 minutes of the start of the round will forfeit game unless arbiter decides to grant/extend the time. (Note that the late player’s clock will keep running.) TCA membership required. Other states accepted. Note that the floor will be closed during the round.
