Dallas Area Chess-in-the-Schools

2003-2004 Instructor Orientation

Saturday, September 6; 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Current, Past, and Potential DACIS Instructors:

Dallas Area Chess-in-the-Schools will be holding its annual DACIS Instructor Orientation on Saturday, September 6, at 10am for all individuals who are interested in teaching chess in the DACIS program this year. As in the past, we will be meeting at the Dallas Chess Club, 11836 Judd Court, Suite 304B.

The orientation will include the following:

1. Review of DACIS policies and procedures.

2. Distribution and review of DACIS curriculum.

3. Presentation of Instructor/School Contract.

4. Distribution of criminal check forms.

5. Feedback forum for addressing questions, comments, successes and problems experienced in the past year.

6. Refreshments!

Regardless of whether or not you have been a DACIS instructor in the past, your attendance at this annual DACIS Instructor Orientation is essential towards ensuring a successful experience for you and for the DACIS school for which you may potentially teach. If you are unable to attend this meeting, but would like to be a DACIS instructor for the upcoming year, it will be necessary for you to interview with the DACIS Board at a later date.

The DACIS Board would like to thank those who have served as paid or volunteer DACIS instructors in the past. Starting with this school year, there will be a limited number of paid instructor positions at the rate of up to $40/hour. If you wish to apply for one of these positions, the application forms will be available at the DACIS Instructor Orientation.

Please let me know if you plan to attend.
