Two 1/2-point byes are allowed but not both in rounds 8 and 9. That is, a player may take one 1/2-point bye in either round 8 or 9 and another one in a previous round, or both byes before round 8. Half-point byes must be requested before Round 3. If a bye is for Rounds 1, 2 or 3, it must be requested before the pairings for that round are published. Players may take a 0-point bye for any round provided it is requested before the round is paired. Also, any byes for Round 9 are considered a withdrawal by the player which will make the player ineligible for prizes.

Fee: $89 if received or online by 8/24, $99 after and at site. $82 Junior (under 19) if received or online by 8/24, $90 after and at site (counts 90% toward based on prizes.) $55 Senior (over 65)/Handicapped/Additional family participant/Birthday during event,/Full time College Player) if received or online by 8/24, $65 after and at site (counts 60% toward based on prizes.) Add $5 for credit card phone entries. Players who do not indicate 3 day or 4 day will be put in the 3 day schedule.

International Section: This section is Fide Rated and uses Fide Rules. USCF rules used for awarding prizes. GM & IM norms possible! FIDE ratings used for EF / pairings /prizes. Tournament will be run using FIDE Rules. Non-USA Federation players must have/provide a FIDE ID number or they cannot play. (New players can get a FIDE ID number for their Country's Federation.) May use accelerated pairings if in the opinion of the Chief Arbiter, IA Boyd Reed, this would improve norm chances.

Reserve Section: U2000. $$ 800-400-200. B $600-300-150, U1600 $500-250-125 based on 200 players in U2300, Reserve and Novice sections. Plaque to highest finishing collegiate player. International and scholastic sections do not count toward based on.

All 3 (U2300, Reserve and Novice): Except for approved Electronic scorekeeping devices, no electronics are allowed in the playing area during the round. This includes rest rooms by the playing area. This rule applies to players, parents, coaches. TCA membership required. Other states accepted.
