Tournament Rules | Your Responsibilities | Bughouse Rules |
1. NO TOUCH MOVE RULE. But let go of the piece and THAT is your move. You also should hit your clock immediately. Upon request, you must press your clock immediately.
2. Illegal move loses. Must be claimed immediately. (If player has made illegal move but not pressed clock, he can replay that move with same piece).
3. Cannot pass captured piece until you press your clock.
4. 3-move repetition.
a) must be claimed or agreed.
b) player claiming must announce repeat position: "repeat 1" repeat 2 repeat 3. Starting at count 1.
c) dropped pieces accumulating on side DOES NOT change the players position.
5) Promoted pawns, once captured, go back as pawns.
6) Player must announce what piece they are promoting pawn to IF the promoted piece is OTHER than queen. Promoted pawns are assumed to be a queen otherwise.
7) Digital clocks are first choice.
8)
9) Simultaneous Mates is a draw.
10) Talking is allowed. Telling your partner a move is not allowed. Talk allowed is stuff like I need a bishop. Queen mates. We are up on time, do not move. Talk not allowed is stuff like drop a bishop on f7.
11) Touching your partners board, pieces or clock is grounds for disqualification.
